Why Himanta govt named a Guwahati flyover after a Bengali nationalist leader
Guwahati's new flyover, costing Rs 376 crore, was inaugurated by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. It's named after Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who "played a critical role in preserving Assam as an integral part of India." Mookerjee's efforts prevented Assam from merging with East Pakistan and protected its culture.
