India charts a ₹10,000-crore waterway plan to boost logistics

The government plans to spend over ₹10,000 crore to develop more than a dozen new national waterways over the next five to 10 years. Cargo traffic surged nearly eightfold since 2014-15, hitting 218 mt in 2025-26. Officials said, "We have achieved the 2030 target...in FY26 itself," boosting future logistics.
