Why India needs smarter carbon accounting for EVs

Global electric car sales crossed 20 million in 2025, while India saw sales rise by around 75 per cent. Experts said, "Carbon doesn't disappear; it simply changes its address." India must now use smarter carbon accounting to measure the true environmental impact of electric vehicles across their entire life cycle.
