UP takes strict action against 866 Ayushman hospitals over negligence, fraud

The Uttar Pradesh government took action against 866 hospitals under the Ayushman Bharat scheme between 2020 and 2026 for negligence and fraud. Officials de-empanelled 648 hospitals and suspended 61 others. SACHIS CEO Archana Verma said, “If hospitals fail to comply with prescribed standards even after imposition of penalties, suspension action will be taken.”
