On September 20, 2016, amateur astronomer Víctor Buso captured a supernova in the galaxy NGC 613. While testing his new camera, he noticed a point of light that got brighter in minutes. This rare discovery showed the earliest stages of a star explosion, which many experts rarely get to see.
