As rubble clears, Colombia begins focusing on recovery after the earthquake

One week after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake hit western Colombia, rescue teams are shifting focus toward recovery. The disaster killed 289 people and injured 4,187 across 15 provinces. Sergeant Joel Bustamente said, “Certain search-and-rescue operations are no longer necessary, and we have now moved on to a phase in which reconstruction will begin.”
